About me
Michael Schiferl, LCMFT
Male therapist in Overland Park, KS
Hey guys, my name is Michael. I’m a men’s therapist that helps men struggling with PTSD, OCD, and anxiety disorders.
I know how difficult these issues can be, so I’m glad you’re considering getting help. My goal is to offer a comfortable space for men to confront and overcome their fears. Our work may be challenging at times, but I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Many of my clients are veterans or first responders seeking help with PTSD. I also work with male survivors of sexual abuse, men struggling with anxiety, or men who have OCD.
I use several types of therapy to help men meet their goals. The treatments I use are Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and attachment-focused therapy. You can read more about these therapies by clicking here.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and rock climbing. I’ve traveled to four continents and hope to make it five someday soon. I’m married to my best friend Alyssa and will never get over how lucky I am to call her my wife. We have one son and another on the way soon.
I’m a Christian and find benefit in combining faith with therapy. Let me know if you want faith to be part of your treatment plan.
